The volume of sales, the diversity and nature of products sold, the number of employees and the fact that the Group serves over 200 million customers a year makes it inevitable that accidents occasionally happen. Recording accidents and incidents, developing policies and procedures to reduce the number and cost of these is the responsibility of Abigail Miller, Home Retail Group’s Health and Safety Manager.
Abigail came to PRIME to look at the Accident & Incident Reporting module. She immediately recognised the value of the system for Home Retail Group’s requirements. Abigail explains, “Prime was clearly written with HSE expertise, but from a user’s perspective. You didn’t need to be a brain surgeon to use it.”
Implementing the system at Home Retail Group proved straightforward as the system is accessible through a webbrowser and is hosted by PRIME. It started delivering a return on investment almost immediately, “Within the first month of using PRIME we had more management information than ever before,” says Abby. Reporting on actual real-life incidents meant that Home Retail Group could develop a more accurate strategy for dealing with accidents. “It’s easier to get policies in place when we have the facts to back them up,” explains Abby.
