Prime Systems scores with Goals Soccer

Prime have been chosen by Goals Soccer Centres to provide an online accident & incident reporting system.

Goals run 46 FA affiliated 5-a-side football centres across the UK, and are about to open their 3rd centre in the United States, and employ over 700 people.

The very nature of 5-a-side football means that injuries and accidents will inevitably occur, but nonetheless the Goals Health & Safety team are committed to ensuring that their centres are as safe as possible and continually assess risks to make sure the best possible procedures and controls are in place, a process reinforced by detailed reporting directly to the Goals Board.

The Prime system was chosen as it gives each centre an accessible and easy method for quickly reporting any accident or incident, which then alerts the central safety team who can respond quickly. The key focus when setting up the system was to be able to quickly assess if an accident was preventable or not, and the Prime system was configured so that Goals existing investigation and follow up questions were followed on the online report form.

Prime Systems Director Paul Ramsell said “We have a good track record working with leisure companies, and our understanding of the needs of the safety managers in companies like Goals was a key factor in being selected to provide their reporting system”. Goals Health & Safety Manager Scott Kerr said “The team at Prime quickly helped us to get the system up and running, working how we wanted it to work, and since its launch we have had much better visibility of accidents and incidents across our centres”.

Prime has been extended to cover the new US sites and give the same level of visibility and awareness to ensure that the team in the UK are close to the action on the soccer pitch, as they are to the football pitch.

Prime Systems fly in to help RSPB

The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), founded in 1889 works to promote conservation and protection of birds and the wider environment through public awareness campaigns, petitions and through the operation of nature reserves throughout the United Kingdom.

The RSPB has over 1300 employees, 18,000 volunteers and more than 1 million members, making it the largest wildlife conservation charity in Europe.

The RSPB maintains over 200 reserves throughout the United Kingdom, covering a wide range of habitats, from estuaries and mudflats to forests and urban habitats.

These environments present a wide variety of hazards, both to members of the public visiting the sites and to the employees and volunteers working there. The RSPB recognised that they wanted to improve the quality of their trend analysis, and give each site the ability to analyse their own data and understand local issues, as well as the country and regional level analysis they already had.

After a careful tender process, Prime was chosen as the preferred solution and began work to configure and launch the new system. Prime Systems Director Paul Ramsell said “We were delighted to be selected to provide RSPB’s new online accident reporting system, the organisation fits well into our existing range of customers, having worked for several years with bodies such as English Heritage, the Forestry Commission and Historic Scotland, who all have similar risks with members of the public and employees in outdoor spaces”.

After a short trial and a planned training and communication programme across the business, the Prime system was successfully launched for all sites and users to record accidents, incidents and near misses, and for much more detailed and granular management information to be available. Graham Figg, Senior Safety Advisor, who was instrumental in the launch of the system, working closely with Prime, said “Prime successfully delivered our new Accident & Incident Reporting system across the organisation on time and to budget. The ongoing support provided by Prime has been excellent and we now have an accident reporting system that is professional and easy to use. The analysis and reporting options provided are great tools for communicating key information to management and colleagues.”

Furniture Village revamps its safety strategy with Prime appointment

PRIME Systems has been appointed by Furniture Village as its health and safety software partner. The company, which is the UK’s number one independently-owned furniture retailer, is using two of PRIME’s modules: Accident & Incident Reporting and Compliance Monitoring.

PRIME Systems partner Paul Ramsell stated: “We’re really looking forward to developing our relationship with Furniture Village. It’s a very dynamic company that’s managed to maintain a progressive business philosophy based on traditional values – and of course safety is a high priority, for both staff and customers.”

A family-run business which opened its first site in Abingdon in 1989, Furniture Village now has 43 stores across the UK plus 14 depots and a flourishing online retail operation.

Sue Browne, Group Health and Safety Controller at Furniture Village, commented: “PRIME Systems was an obvious choice in supporting our operations with compliance and accident reporting. Furniture Village as a company has its own unique family culture and we were confident PRIME could design systems with this in mind.

“Thanks to their simplicity, PRIME’s Accident Reporting and Compliance Monitoring systems are easy to operate – and since going live they’ve been embraced by both our retail and distribution teams. Using PRIME does away with the need for our old paper-driven, manual reporting system – and of course it ensures compliance by acting as our conscience.”

By offering an imaginative range of high quality product lines at competitive prices, Furniture Village is continuing to change the way people shop for furniture, both online and in-store.

PRIME has established an impressive track record in retail, working for the likes of W H Smith, Wilkinson and Argos.

The PRIME Systems Accident and Incident Reporting module provides a straightforward process for recording occurrences of personal injury, property loss and other incidents such as damage, abuse, robbery and alarm activations. The system can also be used to report illnesses, near misses, dangerous occurrences and visits from enforcement officers.

PRIME Compliance Monitoring provides a comprehensive and easy-to-use way of recording routine checks at whatever frequency required, from daily to annual.

Pure Gym tones up its health and safety profile with Prime Systems

Pure Gym, the UK’s leading gym operator, has selected PRIME Systems as its health and safety systems supplier. It will use PRIME’s Compliance Monitoring and Accident & Incident Reporting modules across its nationwide network of fitness centres.

PRIME already has a good track record in this sector – existing clients include David Lloyd Leisure, LA Fitness and Virgin Active. LA Fitness was acquired by Pure Gym in May 2015.

PRIME Systems partner Paul Ramsell commented: “This is very exciting for us. We’re really looking forward to working with Pure Gym – it’s an ambitious and energetic company and culturally we’re a good fit. We’re particularly pleased that, working together, we managed to progress from First Demo to Live Pilot within six weeks.”

Pure Gym has more than 500,000 members and over 100 gyms, with the total set to rise steadily as it integrates the LA Fitness network as well as opening new sites.

Its gyms are open 24/7 and are monitored by real-time CCTV linked to security staff.

Malcolm Shevlin, Pure Gym’s national health and safety manager, said: “Following our initial meeting, it was clear that PRIME was easy-to-use, yet sophisticated enough to provide accurate reporting for a fast-paced, growing company like Pure Gym – which, until now, has been manually processing all accident-related data. PRIME is now embedded into the business and is proving an extremely useful resource.”

Pure Gym, founded by leisure industry entrepreneur Peter Roberts in 2008, opened its first gyms in Leeds and Manchester, with a clearly differentiated philosophy of offering affordable fitness to the widest possible market.

Its network grew rapidly through organic expansion across the north of England and Scotland; and the acquisition of LA Fitness, with its focus on southern England, has made it the UK’s undisputed nationwide network. Its target is to have over 150 sites operational in 2016.

Each Pure Gym is filled with at least 220 pieces of brand-new equipment to cover everyone’s fitness requirements. All members also have access to over 40 free classes per week, plus additional specialist classes such as Zumba and the new South African dance class Bokwa. There are also excellent changing facilities, modern showers, and functional training zones with Kettlebells, Power Plate and TRX Suspension Trainers.

Pure Gym underlined its market-leading status when it announced in June that six-time Olympic Gold medal winner Sir Chris Hoy had invested in the business and had agreed to partner with the company as a special adviser.
