Faster, simpler health and safety monitoring with Prime Systems Fast Pick
When health and safety checks are part of the everyday running of a business, making them simple to complete matters.
Across a multi-site operation, teams may be carrying out hundreds or thousands of routine checks. Each one plays a part in creating safer places and spaces, but the process needs to work for the people completing them.
Prime Systems’ latest Monitoring update, Fast Pick, makes routine checks quicker to complete while keeping the detail where it matters.
It’s a simple improvement designed around a very practical need: helping people spend less time navigating a system and more time getting the job done.
New: Monitoring Fast Pick
- Fast Pick gives users the ability to answer checklist questions directly from the summary screen, rather than opening each individual question before recording an answer.
- Users can also hover over the question summary to see the full question in a tooltip, giving them the information they need without moving between screens.
- For routine checks where everything is as it should be, users can simply answer and move on.
- When something needs attention, Prime Systems takes care of the next step.
- If a question is recorded as a Fail, the user is automatically taken into the full question. They can add further information and, where required, raise an action.
So straightforward checks stay straightforward, while anything requiring attention gets the additional detail and follow-up it needs.
Why Prime are making everyday monitoring easier
Regular monitoring is an important part of effective health and safety management.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) describes managing health and safety as an ongoing process, with effective arrangements needed for the planning, organisation, control, monitoring and review of measures designed to protect people.
HSE guidance also identifies planned workplace inspections and checks as an important part of active monitoring, helping organisations understand how effectively their health and safety arrangements are working in practice.
For multi-site organisations, the scale of that everyday monitoring can be significant.
- A leisure operator might have teams completing opening checks, equipment inspections, poolside checks, fire safety checks and cleaning or maintenance monitoring across multiple venues.
- Retail teams may be checking entrances, stockrooms, fire exits, equipment, customer areas and potential slip and trip hazards every day.
- Property and facilities teams can be managing scheduled inspections across numerous buildings, locations and contractors.
Each check matters. But the system supporting those checks shouldn’t make the task more complicated than it needs to be.
Small improvements make a difference at scale
Saving a few clicks on one checklist might seem like a small change, but we know from our clients that when you multiply that across hundreds of users, locations and regular checks, the benefit becomes much more significant.
“Fast Pick helps our clients’ teams work through routine monitoring more efficiently while maintaining the information health and safety teams need; just as importantly, the system distinguishes between the routine and the exception.” Andy Brown – Director Prime Systems
When everything is compliant, the process is quick. When something fails, the user is automatically moved into the more detailed process so the issue can be properly recorded and acted upon.
It’s a practical way to streamline safety management without reducing the accuracy behind it.
Improving the everyday experience of health and safety
HSE’s Plan, Do, Check, Act approach encourages organisations to treat health and safety management as a continuous process of checking, learning and improving.
“Technology has an important role to play in making that manageable, particularly for organisations operating across multiple sites. At Prime Systems, we continually look at how people use our systems and where we can make everyday processes simpler.” Paul Ramsell – Managing Director – Prime Systems
Fast Pick is a good example of this approach, it isn’t about removing important steps. It’s about removing unnecessary ones. That means a better experience for the people carrying out checks, clearer information for health and safety teams and more efficient monitoring across the organisation.
Safety systems built around the way you work
Prime Systems’ Monitoring module forms part of our wider health and safety platform, bringing important safety processes and information together in one place.
Our systems are modular and configurable, so they can be built around the requirements of different organisations, sites, teams and processes.
For businesses managing health and safety across multiple locations, that means simpler ways to capture, store and share vital information, with greater visibility across the organisation.
